Launch patches
Atari posted two hotfixes on Steam in the first two days:
- November 3, 2026: VSync is now on by default.
- November 4, 2026: fixes an issue where the character roster could become fully locked when save data was corrupted, and an issue with Steam using the wrong audio output device.
If you play on PC and had sound coming out of the wrong device, or saw your unlocks disappear, update the game.
Who made it
The remaster comes from Pipeworks Studios, the developer of the 2002 original, and is published by Atari. It updates the original fighter with remastered visuals, an improved unlock system and online multiplayer for the first time.
Was there a demo?
Yes. A free demo ran on Steam from October 15 to October 27, 2026, with Godzilla, Gigan and King Ghidorah. It is no longer available. See the demo page for what it included.
