Godzilla Melee Remastered Crossplay

No. Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered does not support crossplay. Online matches only work with players on the same platform, such as PC with PC or PS5 with PS5.

No, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is not crossplay. At PAX West 2026, Atari's Jason Polansky told GeeksvsGeeks that cross-play is not currently supported, so players need to be on the same platform to play together online. None of the official store pages list cross-play either.

That means a PC player cannot fight a PS5, Xbox or Switch 2 player online, and the same goes for every other pairing.

What Atari said

The statement comes from GeeksvsGeeks' walkthrough of Atari's PAX West booth in September 2026, where they spoke with Jason Polansky from Atari. Their write-up says the game supports online multiplayer, but cross-play is not currently supported, and players need to be on the same platform ecosystem to play together online.

After that interview spread, players on the Steam forums repeated that crossplay had been ruled out, and some said they would wait to buy until it was added. Atari has not announced any plan to add it. We will update this page if that changes.

What online play does support

Online multiplayer is new in the remaster. The 2002 original was local only.

PC (Steam)None1 vs 1 (Steam demo announcement)
PlayStation 5PlayStation PlusUp to 4
Xbox Series X|SGame Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate2 to 4
Nintendo Switch 2Nintendo Switch Online2

The stores do not agree on online player counts. Reviewers who played the full game, such as Nintendo Wire, say online is limited to 1v1 Quickplay matches, which matches the Nintendo eShop and the Steam demo. Expect 1v1 online on every platform until Atari says otherwise.

Can you still play with friends on other platforms?

Not online. Your options are:

  • Local multiplayer: up to 4 players on one screen, on every platform, with no subscription.
  • Steam Remote Play Together (PC): Steam lists Remote Play Together support, which lets friends join your local session over the internet through Steam. They need Steam, but not their own copy of the game.
  • PS5 Remote Play: the PlayStation Store lists Remote Play support for playing your PS5 from another device.

Does it have cross-save or cross-progression?

To be confirmed. We have not found any official information about carrying saves or unlocks between platforms. Steam Cloud saves work within Steam.
